It’s the Future But, Just Like, Now

Firstly, I hope everyone is safe & healthy in this crisis.

The disruption and suffering is not to be underestimated. And the real impact will takes years to fully unravel and be understood.

That said, when it comes to the impact of this global crisis on business, it’s a simple one: many of the 5-year trends that we all knew would happen eventually are forcefully happening right now.

Involuntarily & painfully, of course. But ferociously, never the less.

E-commerce killing brick & mortar.

Streaming content replacing linear content.

The last nail in the coffin of the printed newspaper.

The death of cash.

Actually getting work done when working from home.

The end of owned automobiles.

The ascension of eSports as real sport.

The 5 year plan is now the 5 day plan.

And the brands that survive, change and realize this best now will come out even stronger when this is over.

The inevitable crashed the party

It is adapt or die. But now.

It’s the future. But now.
